FC Barcelona Set to Play Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou this Saturday. The club will host the Bilbao team in domestic competition 30 months since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited with 45,401 fans can be present based on approved permits. After final construction, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Barça announced completed upgrades featured an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.
Preparatory Events
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch earlier this month. The club said they were hoping for permission from European football’s governing body to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht on 9 December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
