The Pop Star Portrays a Twisted Persona of Herself in Mockumentary Teaser

Charli XCX is getting ready for a major film presence in 2026, kicking off with the satirical film titled The Moment.

Within the project, Charli portrays what she describes as a dark version of her public image.

It’s the most authentic portrayal of the music industry that I’ve ever encountered, the star commented.

She clarified in a discussion: This isn’t a concert film, yet the concept came from the expectation to produce one.

A Sneak Peek into The Moment

The initial preview, released on recently, mixes real clips from Charli’s Sweat tour with imagined off-stage interactions.

The mockumentary is helmed and co-scripted by her collaborator, who revealed that the story focuses on a reality where Charli opted for alternate decisions throughout the publicity of her smash hit album Brat.

The film is a single one of many forthcoming film appearances for the star, who recently featured in three festival films recently.

Additionally, she joined to feature in Dakota Johnson’s maiden directing project A Tree in Blue.

I am really enjoying my cinematic path, she stated. I feel very, very inspired right now in acting, and I always choose to take on things that inspire me.

Soundtrack Involvement

February will also bring the debut of Emerald Fennell’s version of Wuthering Heights, which will feature original songs from the artist.

She is also set to compose the score for the drama Mother Mary, starring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, set to be released soon.

The Moment is scheduled to debut on the 30th of January.
